Congratulations to this outstanding group of girls who won first place in our 7/8 Girls Playoff last night.
This year we had over 40 7th and 8th grade girls. Their volunteer coaches, Jillian Becker, Jayla Bussey and Olivia Shertenleib are all outstanding players for their local high schools, and did a fantastic job of working with our middle school group.

VB Cancelled for Wednesday, December 13th and December 20thDue to a last-minute scheduling change at GTMS, we have to cancel girls 7/8 volleyball due to the Winter Concert on December 20th and the Winter Break, we will be off until January 3rd. We will add two weeks on to the end of the schedule to makeup for those two lost dates. When we come back on January 3rd, we will be using a schedule so that 3 of the 4 teams come every night until we are done in late March.

Our 7th / 8th Girls Volleyball program will be run as a combination clinic and league. The first few weeks will be spent teaching basics such as serving, passing, setting and spiking. We will then put each of the girls on a team and play in league fashion for the rest of the season.
The first night is Wednesday, November 29th from 6pm to 7:30pm at Galloway TWP Middle School. We will meet every Wednesday at the same time unless the school is closed until early March.

3/15/23We concluded another successful season for our Middle School girls. This year we had 34 girls and those that stuck around at the end of tournament night can be seen in this photo. I offer a special thanks to Maddie Pell and Jayla Bussey, both current high school and East Coast Crush VBC travel volleyball players who generously volunteered to help coach these girls. Not pictured are Lex Houston and Patria Moreno, current college athletes, and former ECC travel players who also coached this year.

In order to provide a better instructional experience for the 37 girls that we have in our 7th and 8th grade program, we have divided the group into 4 teams. Each week, 3 of the 4 teams will attend, Coach Phil and Coach Lex and will work with the girls on individual and team play skills. The 4th team each week will have a "bye" where they will not attend. The last 2 weeks of the session will be used for an in-house tournament with all 4 teams attending.

Off for Winter Break until Wednesday, January 4th12/22/22
We are off now due to the school being closed for Winter Break. We will return to training on January 4th. The girls will be divided into 4 teams so we can better manage the number of athletes in each session. Our plan when we return from break will be to have 3 of the 4 teams come each week, with the 4th team having off that week. Coach Lex and I believe that will allow us to run more drills to train the girls, and then the last two weeks will be set up in tournament fashion. I will email the parents the team rosters and schedule, as also post them on this page sometime next week.

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving! I'm sending this email as a reminder that Galloway PAL volleyball begins this Wednesday, November 30th at 6pm for our 7th - 8th grade girls. Please bring your athletes to Galloway Township Middle School (GTMS) a few minutes before 6pm, dressed and ready to begin training. The address for GTMS is 100 S. Reeds Road, Galloway, NJ and you pass two other schools before you get to GTMS at the very end of Reeds Road. The gym entrance is on the left side of the building as you are driving in.
Tee shirts, sweats or volleyball spandex (girls) and gym shoes are required. Knee pads are recommended; an example of the type of kneepad used for volleyball is below:

Jewelry is not allowed for safety reasons so have your kids leave their earrings, necklaces, watches, wrist bands, etc. at home. Also, have them bring a water bottle, there is a filling station outside the gym in the hallway. Other than water, no food or drink is allowed in the gym.
Drop your young athlete off in the GTMS gym a few minutes before 6pm and you can return to pick them up promptly at 7:15. The first night is Wednesday, November 30th from 6pm to 7:30pm at Galloway TWP Middle School. We will meet every Wednesday at the same time unless the school is closed until mid-March. There is very little spectator room at GTMS, so if you are able to drop your athlete off and come back to get them promptly at 7:15, it would be appreciated.

Due to the high number of girls that have signed up for volleyball, and the need to keep a greater degree of social distancing, we are establishing "teams" of girls that will operate on a weekly schedule. The girls made their teams on Wednesday, December 16th, but after review, we had to make some changes. An email was sent to all parents with the team rosters and the schedule. I will post rosters and schedules on this site as well. The way the schedule will be set up, is that 3 of the 4 teams will meet each week, with the 4th team having a bye (off-week).
